Two friends from China decided they were stronger together than they were as individuals. Their story is unique in that Wenqi was a double amputee and Haiza was completely blind. Yet, despite their handicaps they wanted to be productive and contribute to generations to come.

Finding it difficult to find work, they went to the local government and proposed a plan to plant trees along the riverbank. They were granted support and the two men went to work. At times they carried each other across the river. Wengi used his feet to hold and pass objects, while Haixa held on to his sleeves to navigate their course.  “I am his hands. He is my eyes,” says Haixa.

Over the past decade, the two men have planted over 10,000 trees. They say the work is hard but they live in peace knowing the trees will grow tall and provide shade for those they will never meet. (thedailygood.com)
