If you read my weekly post, sometimes you find a best practice tip, sometimes a thought-provoking slice of life and sometimes, like today, a little something about a person achieving their personal best. It’s all meant to inspire and this week I was inspire by Gustavo Dudamel.
I saw Gustavo conducting a classical music concert at the Hollywood Bowl. What added to the enchantment of the evening was watching Dudamel direct the symphony with a smile so full of joy I imagine he does not call what he does “work”. He clearly lives by the expression of his greatest gifts which has awarded him international accolades and a reputation of being one of the best conductors of music of our time. He is also only 35 years old! Makes you think of Mozart right?
When we do what we love we are at our personal best. We are in flow, aligned with our nature, and a deep sense of joy becomes part of the experience. We all have this ability. Of course, not all of us can make a living at it, but we can still tap it for ourselves and express that joy to others. So this week consider what you can do better than anybody else. Chances are whatever that is, it will make you smile like Dudamel.
What inspires you?
