As Americans…

 In Managing Transitions, Purposeful Living

As Americans, we have passionately fought against injustices. When the incidences of deaths due to drunk driving in this country were increasing we sought legislation.  We created stronger laws, harsher penalties, safer cars, and brought awareness to our communities.  The lives lost due to drunk drivers caused change to happen.

As Americans, every major plane crash in this country has resulted in safer regulations, new technologies to avoid dangerous weather patterns, and stricter FAA requirements for airlines and pilots.  The lives lost due to plane crashes caused change to happen.

As Americans, we lost at least 59 citizens this week, 529 were injured, and tens of thousands of people and their families have been traumatized by the deadliest shooting in modern U.S. history.

As Americans, when do we finally get to say that the lives lost to gun shot wounds caused change to happen?
