I tend to go into a new year with both excitement and trepidation. It’s a reminder that the unknown lies ahead and “the unknown” is one of our greatest fears. It’s also a reminder that there will be things we can influence and things that will be completely out of our control. I like to focus on the things I can influence.
This year I can decide how much energy to apply toward my goals and passions. I can uphold boundaries so my calendar does not get the better of me. And, if I’m really mindful, I can set realistic expectations for myself so I don’t fall through the crack of self-doubt.
This year is another opportunity for all of us to be our best-self, and to contribute to our families, companies, and communities in a positive way. What will that look like for you this year? What do you need to do and what do you need to avoid to stay healthy, balanced and at your best for yourself and others? It’s worth the thought.
